I’m going back to blogging because I’m seriously missing out writing on here. I have a lot of started drafts waiting for the right moment, posts with details about the home will become ready a year later (yes, I didn’t forget that I promised to tell you everything in the smallest detail), but now I would rather have more useful information that I can share with you, more than if I had done it in the beginning.
But first I start the month with a focus and a little more attention on an unexpected meeting in Bulgaria – Orpheus. A brand that was born from the myth of Orpheus and his beloved Eurydice to the way in which nature and technology can blend together. At the end of last year I showed you on Instagram stories the brand for the first time when I just started to test its products. The brand’s inspiration comes from the Orpheus flower (you maybe heard it also as the Rhodope Silivryak / Haberlea rhodopensis), also known among herbalists as a “resurrection flower”. This is not a fortuitous name because it has been proven that the flower can withstand for 31 months (there are even reports for 10 years) without water and return to its original form under more favorable conditions, remarkable ability to survive very long periods of desiccation. You can found the flower mostly in the Rhodope Mountains, in north-facing rocky habitats. The Orpheus flower is even included in the Red Book of Bulgaria like a very protected species. This doesn’t stop the curiosity of the Orpheus brand who still manages to convey the power of this flower to all of us. In laboratories they grow plant stem cells in a controlled, chemical-free environment, where they can be stimulated to produce higher levels of their active substances. Thus, they use pure ingredients and resistance without damaging the skin or causing unnecessary damage to the environment.
My first meeting with the products of Orpheus was in November when they sent them to me to test, which was the perfect moment when my skin was in desperate need of hydration. Then I started using Resurrection Аll-in Оne serum (more on its composition here) as an evening skin treatment in combination with a spray serum Resurrection Bio-Luminous Dewy Essence (more here) during the day and on makeup. Initially my skin absorbed all the products for seconds just like a dry land where you pour a glass of water on and there isn’t a drop of it. After 2 months of use, less and less of my serum was needed, apparently my skin was getting its own. It looked healthier and softer. The products in combination give you an instant feeling of moisture and it’s visible on the face itself, it looks more juicy and fresh. After prolonged and constant use you may notice even a slightly smoothing anti age effect because some of my facial wrinkles were reduced after the first pack serum which I had used. I have found that the serum spray can also be used to fix the makeup (it’s also an active but a lighter moisturizing serum), it gives a fresh shine to the face and an instant glow effect. The serum besides night therapy is a great solution and primer before makeup, blends perfectly with foundation, doesn’t make the face extra greasy and you get another dose of the product during the day. The brand doesn’t have strong scents that irritate, the first impression is of the morning dew, a pure and gentle addition to the routine, which in no way makes you feel it as an excess on your face.
I started a second pack of the serum, I think I’ll give my mom one too because they recommend it for all skin types, she has oily skin and I will be curious how she will feel the product.
The brand won me over with a good product inspired from Bulgaria, definitely, but also with a vision that left me with the feeling this is the right decision. I like that Orpheus will not be widely available on the store, it’s a boutique brand that is rare, just like the flower that inspired this story. There are only two products at this stage but I will let you know soon when there will be something new that will perfectly complement our beauty routine. The things at Orpheus are not done massively and at high consumer rates, everything takes time and proper attitude to the process. For now, you can find and test the Orpheus products only in one cosmetic studio in Sofia – facecare.bg or on the official website – orpheus-skin.com. I will follow this story as it unfolds and I hope to have another occasion sonn to tell you what is happening around them.
