If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you probably already know that this year I decided to join on the adventure that began in February – the wheat regime of Peter Deunov. I still find it hard to realize how I’ve done everything so easily. More than 10 days had passed and I hadn’t felt that time at all… I think the key is in your initial attitude. I set my body, my mind and my spirit that it would be something very enjoyable, easy and important to me and it really was. Now I will try briefly to tell you about the most important thing about my first experience with the wheat regime, the physical and spiritual purification after the winter season, how I fully accept the energy of everything around me, the will and strength of the spirit, the sustainable development and for those small changes and steps in our everyday life (such as thinking more about the composition of the products we use and buy…) that can change our tomorrow.
I don’t want to go into details about what the wheat regime is, why and how it’s done. There is a lot written on the subject, I will leave you with some useful links to read and follow on the topic: (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). I want to emphasize more on what I felt and why I even ventured into this adventure.
The truth is that I’ve never done something this important for my body. Yes, I don’t smoke, I don’t drink carbonated drinks, I don’t eat fried food, I avoid sweet things (as much as I can, of course, I’m a human too), meat and dairy products, but I still lacked the lightness that I felt before, an indescribable freedom of spirit and the body with which I internally know that I can go through everything. I had lost my tonicity, felt some heaviness, it was hard for me to get up in the morning, didn’t sleep well, I drank a lot of coffee and that honestly prevented me from feeling good. I decided to stop coffee 3 days before the regime began and to go through that murderous headache that I knew was waiting for me. I haven’t been drinking coffee for two weeks now and I can’t believe that I wakе up without an alarm, I’m active all day and I’ve always thought that I can’t exist without coffee. Of course, I will recall its taste from time to time, but not the way I’ve done it before.
During the regime I wasn’t deprived from almost anything and I still had all my normal habits as a whole. In my opinion, it’s very important for you to feel good and not to feel the regime as a shock. I went out, met people, even traveled to Serbia for a NYX event, trained, cooked some delicious stuff for Kalo (yes, even that didn’t hinder me), worked, did everything I usually do. I even sat down at the table and ate with the rest of the people, I just carried my food with me each time (this can be a little annoying but with a little more organization you will not have any problems).
Honestly, I rediscovered myself, I didn’t know that I had such a strong will and self-control, I reached that balance I wanted. I lost weight, I don’t know how much, I didn’t have that as a goal and didn’t even weigh myself before and after the regime, I see it on my clothes. Now I’m very careful and go back into the normal rhythm step by step (I have left you a really cool menu in the links above). Would I repeat the regime again? For sure, this is a total restart for me, a huge amount of strength and growth, with which I can make the year more complete. And yes, it is from those feelings and state of spirit and body that you have to experience to understand. I advise you to try next year!
In the spirit of the theme of the little steps that change us every day, I want to tell you a little bit more about my first impressions of the so-called R.A.W. series of Biolage, part of the Matrix family. I will start with that which surprised me and actually made me write this post – the topic of sustainable development. We rarely think so much forward in the future and what we leave behind. We don’t have to at this stage, but while we’re looking at the electric car that SpaceX fired into open space with the most powerful rocket, used by mankind at this moment, everything on the earth is so real and as close to us as we can’t even imagine. Some very little steps can change our tomorrow. And this is actually good somewhat, because the change is closer, but it is important to talk about it.
For example, the Matrix brand set up the Biolage R.A.W. mainly with natural ingredients (between 70% and 100%), up to 99% biodegradable, but besides the quality product, they also close the production cycle, indicating that it’s possible for brands to take on more responsibility for the future. Thus the shampoos and conditioners are produced in environmentally-friendly, sustainable, ethical practices, with 68% reduction in waste and 64% reduction in water consumption and even a large proportion of bottles are made from up to 100% recycled plastics. Bottle made from other bottles. Sounds really cool, right?
The series which I chose and is the most suitable for my hair is UPLIFT – for more volume (the other two series are: NOURISH – transforms dry, dull hair into healthy-looking and RECOVER – restores shine to stressed, sensitized hair). Enriched with black sesame and grapefruit, this shampoo thoroughly scrubs my thin hair (forms a great foam, that is unusual for a sulphate-free product) without disturbing the upper layers of the epidermis, while the balsam with kiwi and kaolin clay nourish without aggravating and it even smells great. I combine the series with a very interesting product that can be used in several different ways – REPLENISH oil mist, which in its composition has a unique combination of pure and essential oils and can be used before or after shampooing. I recommend that if you have very dry hair to use it after, because it will make it softer and nourished and I use it as a pre-shampoo oil and I like how easily I comb my hair afterwards and that it smells great.
The brand recommends to combine all the products in the series because they are more efficient together. I want to tell you that we all together are the most effective in our struggle for a better tomorrow. Some little steps such as paying more attention to the composition of the products we use every day is an easy step forward. Don’t you think?
